The pool and cabana at Tin Horse Ranch are the heart of outdoor life at the ranch — a resort-style retreat set within manicured lawns, lush gardens and sweeping hinterland views. Whether you’re floating through a lazy afternoon, entertaining under the cabana with drinks as the sun drops behind the hills, or watching the kids burn off energy in the water, this space delivers the kind of relaxed luxury that makes a holiday feel genuinely special.
The sparkling 15-metre saltwater pool is the centrepiece of the property’s outdoor entertaining area. Designed for both serious swimmers and those who simply want to cool off in style, the pool is surrounded by a generous paved deck with plenty of room for the whole group to spread out. Sun lounges line the poolside, perfectly positioned to catch the afternoon light and the views that roll out beyond the gardens toward the hinterland ridgeline.
The pool is directly accessible from the Main House via bifold doors from the open-plan kitchen and living area, making inside-outside entertaining completely seamless. It’s also open to guests of the Cabin and Studio, making it a natural gathering point for the whole group.
Positioned alongside the pool, the cabana is a shaded open-air pavilion built for relaxed entertaining. At its heart is a king-size daybed — the kind of spot you claim in the morning and don’t leave until dinner. There’s seating and table space for the group, making it equally suited to a long lazy lunch, afternoon drinks, or simply sitting in the shade with a book while watching the pool activity unfold around you.
As the day cools and the sky shifts through golds and pinks at sunset, the cabana becomes one of the best vantage points on the entire property. The hinterland views from this spot — open paddocks framed by rolling green hills — are genuinely hard to leave.
The pool and cabana sit within a wider garden setting that gives Tin Horse Ranch much of its character. Manicured lawns extend across the property, bordered by established gardens, a herb patch, and open paddocks beyond. It’s the kind of space where kids can run freely, where a pre-dinner walk feels like an event, and where the simple act of sitting outside with a glass of wine becomes something to remember.
At night, the grounds take on a different quality — quiet, dark, and brilliantly lit by stars. The Byron Hinterland has no city glow to wash out the sky, which makes stargazing from the pool deck or cabana a genuine highlight of a stay at the ranch.
